Q. How long should I consume matcha after opening? 抹茶は開封後どのくらいで飲み切ればいい?
A. Use within 4 weeks. Store in a cool, dark, dry place. できれば 4 週間以内。涼しく、暗い、乾燥した場所で保管してください。
Q. Does matcha contain more caffeine than coffee? カフェイン量はコーヒーと比べて多い?
A. 2 g of matcha delivers about 60 mg of caffeine—less than the 80 mg in a cup of drip coffee. The caffeine is released more gently, easing strain on the body, and matcha's high theanine content helps keep jitters in check. Except the WACHA Green series, all WACHA blends are caffeine-free.
Susutake-style Chashaku — A Scoop of Stillness
The Chashaku is a traditional Japanese bamboo scoop used to transfer matcha powder into a tea bowl. This piece is crafted from bamboo finished in a Susutake-style—a gentle, smoked tone reminiscent of aged soot bamboo (Susutake).
Its warm brown hue and smooth texture evoke the quiet grace of tea culture, making it suitable for both tea ceremony practice and modern matcha rituals such as Matcha Therapy.
Each scoop has a unique natural pattern, bringing a subtle beauty to your tea time.
The Chashaku originated in ancient China as a medicine scoop, and evolved in Japan as tea masters began carving their own bamboo utensils.
By the Muromachi period, its refined, flexible shape had become an essential element of the tea ceremony—designed to measure precisely, without damaging the tea container.
This Susutake-style Chashaku measures 18.5 cm, offering a comfortable, lightweight feel in the hand. It allows smooth and accurate scooping for both beginners and experienced tea practitioners.

▸ Matcha Measurement Guide — 2g per 50ml of Water
With a traditional chashaku (bamboo tea scoop),
one scoop of matcha equals approximately 1 gram.
For one perfect cup, use 2 scoops (about 2g) of matcha with 50ml of hot water (70–80°C).
This ratio enhances the matcha’s natural umami, color, and creamy texture.
Whisk briskly in an “M” motion until fine foam appears —
then pause for a breath of calm before enjoying your tea.
▸ Basic Ratio Table
Type Matcha Water Scoops
Usucha (thin tea) 2g 50ml 2 scoops
Koicha (thick tea) 3–4g 40ml 3–4 scoops
▸ How to Prepare
Scoop matcha gently with the chashaku and place it in the center of your tea bowl.
Add 50ml of hot water (70–80°C).
Whisk rhythmically to create a fine foam — a moment of quiet beauty in every cup.
Each WACHA blend (SmoKYO, Green Matcha, Blue Matcha, Red Matcha) is crafted to shine perfectly with 2g of matcha per serving.
