WACHA to Present a Matcha Tasting
with Hanasennin’s Raku Tea Bowls at JAPAN TEA EXPO 2026

WACHA will be exhibiting at JAPAN TEA EXPO 2026,
held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center Taito-kan
on October 24 and 25, 2026.
During the event, we will present a small-group tasting experience
featuring Raku tea bowls by Hanasennin (Nagakazu Kato).
Participants will taste the same matcha prepared in two bowls:
a standard tea bowl and a Raku tea bowl by Hanasennin.
The matcha, amount of water, and person preparing it will remain the same.
Only the bowl will change, allowing participants to explore differences
in mouthfeel, temperature, aroma, and lingering finish.
Both special sessions featuring a live demonstration
by Raku tea bowl artisan Yukio Ota are sold out.
Select regular sessions are still available.
(As of August 21, 2026)
No previous experience with the Japanese tea ceremony is required.
Each session is limited to five participants.
