Simply rinse your whisk after use, then place it upside down on the rest.
The natural curve supports the bamboo tines as they dry evenly, helping to preserve their graceful form and create fine, smooth foam the next time you whisk.

What is a “Chasen Rest”?
After preparing matcha, leaving the whisk standing upright causes its fine bamboo tips to spread and lose shape.
A chasen rest—also called a “kusenaoshi”—is a special holder that gently supports the whisk as it dries, maintaining its natural curve and preventing damage.
In Japanese tea culture, even the act of letting a tool rest is part of the ritual.
This small piece embodies that sense of quiet mindfulness.
